BUSU's free tax clinic appointments are currently closed for the season. It will reopen in March 2025.
Interested in volunteering? Please email rbauman@brockbusu.ca to sign up for more information (coming out in September 2024).
Students still needing help with filing their Taxes can sign up with the CRA Free Tax Clinic.
BUSU runs a volunteer-based tax clinic as part of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Volunteers are trained through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) - a great addition to your resume for future accountants!
The clinic operates on the schedule of the volunteers, and as a participant, you will coordinate your time with the assigned volunteer. All appointments will be held virtually.
The clinic will be run by students with experience in submitting taxes with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). All meetings will be held on Microsoft Teams through your Brock University subscription.
Once an appointment is booked, your information will be sent to the Tax Clinic team and they will contact you to arrange a meeting.
For those who are signed up and have been contacted by the organizer, here is what you will need:
- Social Insurance Number
- Government-issued identification
- T2202A or T2202 - Tuition and Enrolment Certificate, issued by Brock University
- Rent payment receipts, issued by your landlord or tenant management team
- T4 or T4a slips
*If you are self-employed, please contact a Certified Professional Accountant to assist with your 2023 income tax submissions
