Frost Week
I am excited to be leading the execution of Frost Week 2025 at Brock University, which will run from January 13 to 17. This year’s lineup features Pottery Painting & Pizza, Sexy Bingo, the Clubs Fair, Ice Skating at Canada Games Park, and a special New Year, New Me Collage Making event. These events were planned with the goal of making the Winter term kickoff truly special.
Pottery Painting & Pizza offers to be a relaxing and creative evening where students can paint their own pottery pieces while enjoying some delicious pizza. Sexy Bingo is a crowd favorite, making its return after a huge success during BadgerFest. With fun themes, exciting prizes, and an engaging atmosphere, it’s always a hit with students, and we’re expecting it to be just as popular this time. Ice Skating at Canada Games Park, organized in partnership with the Brock Winter Club, provides a fun, drop-in opportunity for students to embrace the season, Each event is designed to draw over 150 students, making them lively and engaging experiences.
This year, we’re also introducing New Year, New Me Collage Making, a collaboration with local vendor Paper Bananas. This event offers students a chance to reflect on their goals and express themselves creatively through personalized collages. I’m so excited to see these events come to life and to welcome students back with a Frost Week that celebrates connection, community, and fun!
Upcoming Events
This January, Brock’s Got Talent is the highlight of the month, featuring two heats and a Grand Finale on January 30th. It’s a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and enjoy an exciting evening of performances.
Tuesday Trivia is also returning this week at Isaac’s, bringing back the fun and friendly competition. Additionally, we’ll have free food events with free waffles on main campus and a free sandwich bar at Marilyn I. Walker. These events are a part of the BUSU Food Security Program.
Clubs
On January 9th, we held our Winter President’s Meeting, where we focused on the upcoming club elections for executive positions. This semester, a key priority is supporting clubs as they transition to new leadership and ensuring smooth elections. We’re excited to see how this process unfolds and to help clubs grow with new perspectives.
Additionally, the Clubs Advisory Committee is meeting every week to review and discuss any new club funding requests. We’re working closely with clubs to ensure they have the resources they need to thrive this semester and make the most of their activities.
