Have questions about how construction of the new Student Centre will affect your campus? Read these FAQs below. 

• When will the BUSU Student Centre open? We’re excited to share that the new BUSU Student Centre is anticipated to open for the Fall 2027 semester, bringing a dynamic new space for students to enjoy!​

• Where will the new Student Centre be located? The new Student Centre will rise in the heart of campus, on the site of the current Student-Alumni Centre/Isaac's. This state-of-the-art, approximately 45,000 sq. ft., three-storey building will offer vibrant spaces for studying, dining, relaxing, and making memories with friends.​

• Has this project been approved by Brock? It has been approved by the Brock Board of Trustees twice to date. It will go to the Board of Trustees for final sign off on March 5 and 6.​

• When will construction start? Construction is set to begin in April 2025, marking the start of an exciting transformation for our campus! This is pending final approval from the Brock Board of Trustees in March.​

• What will happen to the trees on that site? We’re committed to sustainability. Any trees impacted by the construction will be replaced by  elsewhere on campus, ensuring that green spaces continue to thrive.​

• What will happen to Isaac's? Isaac's will serve the same tasty food and drinks during construction in the area that is currently Isaac's Lounge on the third floor of the Student-Alumni Centre. When the new Student Centre opens, Isaac's will return to its full size and be better than ever! The revamped design will feature the same great food, friendly staff, and fun events students love, along with a refreshed patio and a new games and recreation space for everyone to enjoy.​

• What will happen to Union Station? Union Station food court businesses will stay open throughout the construction process, with only a brief summer closure for updates. You’ll still be able to grab all your favorite meals!​

• Where will I eat? While construction is underway, students can enjoy their meals anywhere on campus. Additional seating for Union Station will also be available on the third floor above Union Station in the current Isaac's lounge.​

• Will construction affect the bus loop/ bus pick up and drop off location? No. There will be no disruption to the bus timetable or the location of buses during construction of the new Student Centre.​

• How will construction affect events that are normally hosted in Isaac's? BUSU events team will be working hard as normal to bring students a variety of fun events throughout the year. They will be hosted in different locations on campus during the construction phase. This will be communicated through our website (www.brockbusu.ca/events) and on our social media. When the new Student Centre opens, we will have fantastic facilities available to host a variety of events all in one central location.
