Hey Badgers, 

My name is Kelela Dennis, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the BUSU Board of Directors. I am a third-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) student at Brock University, a proud member of the BUSU A-Team, and a Goodman School of Business Ambassador. 

The question isn’t just why should you vote for me? Instead, ask yourself: 

• Are you looking for a leader with experience?

I am running in this election because I am for the people. I bring a wealth of leadership experience to the table: 

• I was a member of the Jamaica Youth Parliament, where I proudly represented my province/parish. 

• I served as a faculty representative at my previous university, where I was awarded the Most Consistent Coordinator. 

• I was also a sub-committee member, where I earned the title of Most Outstanding Sub-Committee Member. 

• Additionally, I served on the Jamaica Union of Tertiary Students as a committee member. 

These roles, along with my extensive involvement in school, community, and church initiatives, have equipped me with the skills and passion to represent you effectively. 

But beyond my leadership experience, here’s why I truly want to run for this position: 

• I want to be a voice for students, ensuring that your concerns and opinions are heard before decisions are made. 

• I want to contribute to decision-making that directly benefits students, advocating for initiatives and policies that enhance our experience at Brock. 

• I am committed to engaging with my fellow students, hearing your thoughts, and bringing your ideas to the table where they matter most. 

I am committed to being a voice for every student, working to create solutions to the challenges you face, and making your experience at Brock as smooth and memorable as possible. Together, we can build the university we want it to be. 

I am running not only because of my love for student leadership but also because of my passion for student engagement. I want to encourage everyone to get involved, make the most of their time here, and create lasting memories. Let’s work together to make a difference and ensure that every student feels supported and heard.
