Hi, I’m Yana Verma, a passionate and driven 3rd Year BA Economics student with a Minor in Business and Management at Brock University. Originally from Delhi, India, I bring a unique perspective as an international student who is eager to make a difference. I’m a curious learner, an enthusiastic team player, and someone who thrives on building connections and exploring opportunities to grow and contribute.
At Brock, I’m an active member of various student organizations and serve as an event coordinator for the Indian Students Association (ISA). I take immense pride in organizing events that bring our diverse community together, fostering a sense of belonging and celebration. Outside the classroom, I love exploring cozy cafes in new cities, indulging in my love for music by singing whenever I find the time, and diving deeper into the dynamic world of cryptocurrency and finance—fields I aspire to build a successful career in.
Growing up as the single child of a single mother taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, independence, and the importance of effort. I’ve learned that perfection isn’t everything—it’s the willingness to try and give your best that truly counts. These experiences have shaped me into a well-rounded individual who embraces challenges and takes pride in getting things done.
If given the honor to serve in the Brock Senate, I aim to represent the voices of my peers, advocate for our needs, and contribute to making our university an even better place for everyone. I believe in being a doer, not just a dreamer, and I’m excited to channel my energy and enthusiasm into this role.
