Hello Everyone,

My name is Madelynn, and I am a first-year History Co-op student. I am excited to express my interest in joining the Vice-President External Affairs Advisory Committee. I believe my background and experiences will enable me to contribute positively to our school's community through municipal and provincial advocacy. During my final year of high school, I was a member of my school board’s Student Senate, which provided me with valuable experience in advocacy and representation. While being on the Student Senate, I was also apart of my schools student council. The photo attached is an image of myself and one of the workers following my schools local food drive during the holidays. Alongside my student council, I spearheaded the food drive and I arranged a competition amungst local schools. This encouraged friendly compeition and school spirit. Additionally, I have had the honor of representing my high school at various events and conferences. One notable experience was participating in an Indigenous ceremony, which deepened my understanding of Indigenous teachings and perspectives. I already have several ideas that I am eager to discuss with the committee, one of which is the integration of student IDs into digital wallets (such as Apple Wallet or Samsung Pay). I briefly spoke with Carleigh about this initiative, and I am enthusiastic about exploring it further throughout my university journey. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to the opportunity to contribute positively to our school’s community through the VP External Affairs Advisory Committee.

Best regards,
Madelynn
