A bit about me:

You will often find me in my cozy Rainforest Cafe sweater, baking some pumpkin spiced cinnamon rolls, attending a (wonderfully odd) live theatrical performance, yapping with my family, reading/writing, adopting stray cats, or (yearly) helping baby turtles cross safely from their nest into the twenty mile creek. I have photos of that last point if you want to see some adorable little guys! I am overall a massive advocate for all types of art and arts-based community building initiatives. I think it is profoundly important to have an outlet (whatever that may be), from attending art galleries or shows to doodling in between classes, or writing poetry on scrap pieces of paper.

I am someone who thinks things through from every angle, and who values good communication and conversation. I am always there to hype you up when you need it, approachable, a great listener, and an easy human to talk to. Fun fact: I am also a transfer student! I believe I have a unique perspective in the sense that I have attended two Universities.

A few of the things I advocate for at Brock:

I’m a second year Psychology major, as well as a massive advocate for accessible mental health services and counseling. Safe and reliable access to mental health resources, especially those that go beyond treating “day to day” stressors are a must-have for a community such as ours that brings together a wide variety of impactful lived experiences. Beyond mental health, I believe that continuing in post secondary education should be accessible to everyone regardless of the barriers that life may throw our way. Through this belief, I am also a strong advocate for SAS and all of the wonderful services the University offers to support students. I know that affordability is of huge importance to students, so I always advocate for making sure students get the most benefit from the tuition they pay, while ensuring services are affordable. I am an ally of introverted-extroverts and introverts alike, and have learned to speak up for the quiet thinkers of the bunch and advocate for voices that may not be heard otherwise. I am also a massive fan of LGBTQ+ inclusion and safety efforts, and would love to aid in keeping our campus a safe place for everyone to learn together. Lastly, I am possibly the biggest fan of the Brock health and dental plan (everyone please cheer for being insured in this economy).

I would love the opportunity to provide any insight or assistance I can to the University Affairs Committee as someone who uses (and loves) a lot of the BUSU initiatives, and wants to help make the most out of the Brock University experience for everyone, especially those who face challenges to showing up every day as their best selves.
